Bidding Prayers
Third Sunday of Easter - prayers of the faithful
Introduction (by the Presider) God rescues us from all our distress, so we bring our prayers with confidence:
- That the Church may be united as we prepare to welcome a new pope (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That God the Holy Spirit may guide the cardinals in the conclave (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us..
- That all Christian leaders may have the enthusiasm of the early disciples (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That the poor may always be at the heart of the Church (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That migrants everywhere may receive care and welcome (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That all of humanity may cherish our common home (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for the dead: That all who have died may join those gathered around the throne of the Lamb (especially our late holy father Pope Francis, and also N & N) (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider) O Lord, you listen and have pity on your people: let your help guide us all the days of our life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
